EPL live scores: Updates from Chelsea vs. Brentford, Burnley vs. Man City and more – Sporting News

There are five simultaneous kickoffs in the Premier League on Saturday, which will have major repercussions at the top and bottom of the table.

Manchester City continue their battle for the Premier League title as they face Burnley away, needing a victory to leapfrog rivals Liverpool at the top of the table. 

Chelsea, meanwhile, are up against Brentford, as the under-fire Blues continue their push for a Champions League spot. 

Elsewhere, bottom-placed Norwich travel to take on Brighton & Hove Albion, while Leeds, who are also battling to avoid the drop, play Southampton.

The remaining game sees Wolves take on Aston Villa in a West Midlands derby.

Manchester City will go back to the top of the table as things stand. 

GOAL – Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa (Young o.g.) Wolves are 2-0 up against Aston Villa as the ball hits off Ashley Young and goes into the net. Young had come on for Lucas Digne, who went off injured after 13 minutes.

GOAL – Leeds 1-0 Southampton (Harrison) Now Harrison has scored as he steers the ball home from close range.

BRIGHTON MISS PENALTY – Brighton get a penalty following a handball from Sam Byram. However, Neal Maupay sends the spot-kick over the crossbar. 

GOAL – Burnley 0-2 Manchester City (Gundogan) City are now 2-0 up, with Gundogan getting on the scoresheet after good work in the build-up from Sterling. 

10:23am: Jack Harrison puts the ball in the net for Leeds against Southampton, but it’s ruled out for offside. 

10:19am: Chelsea have started slowly against Brentford, with the visitors having given a good account of themselves.

10:16am: Burnley striker Wout Weghorst is booked for catching Manchester City’s Rodri with an elbow. 

GOAL – Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa (Jonny) Wolves are in front against Aston Villa, with Jonny firing home. 

GOAL – Burnley 0-1 Manchester City (De Bruyne) Liverpool may not be top of the Premier League for long, with Kevin De Bruyne putting City ahead after a well worked move.

10:03am: Leeds miss an inviting opportunity early on as Diego Llorente shoots wide from close range against Southampton. 

10am: We’re underway in this afternoon’s Premier League games. The main focus will be on Manchester City’s clash against Burnley as Pep Guardiola’s side look to return to the top of the table.
