Manchester United target Denzel Dumfries would be “perfect for the Premier League”, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Old Trafford side are in the market for a right-back this summer and are interested in signing the Inter Milan ace.
What’s the latest news involving Dumfries?
Following an impressive European Championships, where he directly contributed to three goals in four matches, the 26-year-old earned himself a move to San Siro.
And after an equally fine season for the Italian giants, Dumfries is being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
According to Goal, Dumfries is ‘under consideration’ from incoming manager Erik ten Hag, with the futures of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot both in doubt.
Dumfries, valued at £26m, is forward-thinking, highlighted by his five goals and seven assists in his 45 appearances for Inter last season, although he did play at wing-back under Simone Inzaghi.
To put that into context, Manchester United’s four current full-backs, Alex Telles, Luke Shaw, Wan-Bissaka and Dalot directly contributed to just seven goals between them, while no player in the top-flight scored more than him last season.
What did Romano say about Dumfries?
After continuing where he left off at the Euros last season, Romano reckons the Dutch international has done a fine job at Inter and would be a really good addition for Ten Hag.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s a very good player and I’m sure he would be perfect for the Premier League.
“He’s a physical player, he’s scoring goals, he had a very good first season at Inter and it was not easy because he was replacing Achraf Hakimi, who was one of the best right backs in Inter’s history, so it wasn’t easy, but he did very well.”

How did Dumfries perform last season?
According to WhoScored, Dumfries was Inter’s eighth-best player, although that probably doesn’t do him justice to just how well he performed.
On an attacking front, only five other players in the squad chipped in with more goal involvements, which was an extremely notable return for a wing-back.
But while he clearly focused on his attacking output, he also kept up with his defensive duties, which would put him in good stead at Old Trafford, given Ten Hag generally plays with a back four.
Dumfries averaged one tackle every game, while he won 1.3 aerial duels every time he took to the pitch and made a successful clearance every other outing.
